5 Tips to Take Care of Your Skin During Winters

The lovely respite of winter does bring in some rosy glow to the cheeks, but the dryness combined with it just making you feel and look dull and cracky. Though the season gives you a pleasant weather, but looking beautiful with dry face and chapped lips doesn’t seem to be a good idea at all as winter does envelopes your skin with its cold atmosphere. So here are a few skin care tips you need to follow to ensure that you look your best every winter season.

Skin Care

Cleanse and moisturise well: Now this is one very important step you need to follow to ensure your skin looks healthy and doesn’t let the climate show its effect on your face. Hence, ash your face 2-3 times a day with a face wash that suits your skin type and before going to bed use cold milk to fight off the dryness. Find a good cleanser and moisturiser and use it daily especially before bed-time.

Use sunscreen: Sunscreens are not just meant for summers as exposure of the skin to winter sun can also be highly damaging. So 30 minutes before stepping out of the house, make sure to slather your skin and hands with a good sunscreen.

Skin Cream

Eat and drink healthy: You are what you eat. And if you eat foods that are greasy and dry then it’s sure going to leave its impact on your skin, making you look dull and unhealthy. So during winters, it’s advisable to stay away from cheesy, fried and sugary foods as they affect the body’s digestive system as can cause discomfort to your body. So eat and drink healthy by including a lot of healthy fruits, veggies, juices, milkshakes and smoothies in your diet.

Ban hot-baths: A hot bath sure feels great during winter time, but the intense heat of the hot shower bath can actually lead to loss of moisture and cause breakdowns of the lipid barriers in the skin. Hence, having a lukewarm bath with a mix of oatmeal or baking soda is advisable.

Avoid excessive facial treatments: While you may heavily rely on spa treatments, then you’re completely wrong. As during winter skin is more sensitive to chemicals and abrasion, it’s better to stay from facial treatments that might further damage it. Facials, clean-ups, peels and scrubs can be damaging to the surface of the skin. So it’s better to use home-made fruit packs to get a fresh look.
