Good sleep: Yes, you heard it right. In our busy lives packed with hectic schedules, we forget that our bodies need sufficient rest to help us get through the day smoothly. Around 7-9 hours of sleep is required for our body to feel well rested and alert throughout the day. So don’t compromise on your sleep and ensure that your phone and other devices are kept away from you at night, so as to avoid checking them every now and then.

Healthy breakfast: Many of us skip breakfast either because we are late to work or wish to lose weight. But skipping breakfast is not only terrible for our weight loss plan, but can also hamper our productivity. A good breakfast is necessary for our body to receive the essential nutrients which will help it fight infections and stay active.

Light lunch: Even if you feel energised till lunch time, a heavy lunch can make you feel drowsy and drained out quickly. Exercise: 30 minutes of daily exercise helps our body release endorphins, the feel-good chemicals which help us stay cheerful and happy. Not to forget, regular exercise improves our energy level, concentration and alertness.

Drink water: Water is considered to be nature’s best energy drink. Drinking about 2-3 litres daily will help you flush out toxins and hydrate yourself, which is not only good for your skin, but also improves your mood and makes you feel energised and raring to go. So whenever you feel drowsy, chug down a glass of water and find yourself feeling fresh and alert instantly.

Take a stroll: Taking a walk around the block or simply walking around a bit in your office will take your mind off your sleep and release endorphins, which will make you feel cheerful and positive and also shoot up your energy level. A walk post lunch time works best, since it is that time of the day when your body begins to feel most lazy and lethargic.
